Welcome to
Campos Holding
In the 1970s and 80s, Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture partnered with Japan to create the PRODECER program. This partnership included EMBRAPA and CAMPO, both Brazilian leaders in agricultural development, to develop this program to revolutionize and transform the then perceived wasteland of the Brazilian Cerrado into one of the largest and most productive farm areas in the world. Prior to the late Alysson Paolinelli’s (Brazil’s former Minister of Agriculture) passing, he expressed to us that he regretted not including the familiar (SME) farming community in this program. We took his hint and have now picked up where Dr. Paolinelli left off.
Campos Holding was formed in 2022 and similar to the CAMPO PRODECER model, we are working to recreate the Cerrado in Brazil and in Africa through the introduction of biological methods. In addition, as a part of our program, we will also include in its structure a SME component for familiar farmers and its supporting value / supply chain infrastructures. We will also incorporate a strong emphasis on soil care management through regenerative, organic, farming methods. Alysson Paolinelli called for us to move beyond the Second to the Third Leap of Sustainable Tropical Agriculture, and we have accepted his challenge. We describe this next evolutionary initiative as the PROGENERATIVE MOVEMENT: a farming community development model allowing for multi-dimensional transformation through Community Supported Agriculture villages.
