Good Things Grow Here

Welcome
to Our Story

Our Beginning

Thirty-eight years ago, we began to build a garden to feed one family without the use of synthetic chemicals.  The ideas that sprang from that one garden have multiplied to bring hope to many other families in need.  Through the years, we have grown and shifted our attention as issues have arisen in our pursuit to create and perfect a higher level, biologically-driven process.  We began to experiment by combining and modifying several different organic methods to create a higher-end, principle-based agricultural method.

Our Shift to Education & Community

Our first shift in focus occurred as we worked with three universities to design a community development project.  Our goal was to meet the health related needs caused by the lack of quality food and a poor quality water system for 20,000+ Albanian refugees that had settled on the outskirts of Durres, Albania.  We presented this project to the United Nations’ UNDP and UNEP, and the City of Durres for their sponsorship; it was accepted, and a year later 36 students began our program.  Over the next three years, 108 students participated in designing and developing the potable water and sewage infrastructure needed to serve that community.  Afterwards, we continued to embark on additional village projects in the mountainous rainforests of Thailand, where we instilled water harvesting and organic gardening practices among small-scale farmers.

Our Growth & Transition

Our second shift in focus began as we transitioned to the United Arab Emirates.  We were asked to work with the Higher Colleges of Technology to introduce organic food production to our students.  There, we faced skepticism regarding organic farming due to its extremely hot and dry climate.  Nonetheless, sponsored by one of the royal families, we undertook the challenge, and implemented our farming practices on several larger family farms throughout the Emirates. This shift highlighted the critical need for creative approaches to overcome the harsh desert environmental and ecological challenges facing that region.  This challenge also led us our AgPATH Solutions division to develop and extend our tailored soil amendment formulas resulting in revitalizing the once-barren desert lands into an oasis of food production.

To enhance our efforts in agricultural innovation, we utilized permaculture techniques to harvest water and complete an afforestation project in the mountainous desert region of Fujairah, UAE.  These initiatives further underscored our commitment to sustainable development and holistic land management practices.

Throughout this journey, we realized that simply constructing farms wasn't enough to ensure food security.  We also needed to address the supply chain infrastructure required to support the farms.  In addition, recognizing the importance of human capacity building, we intensified our focus on training, understanding that empowerment through education is an integral part of sustainable solutions.  By embracing a holistic approach that combines infrastructure development with community education, we strive to address food security challenges comprehensively, fostering resilience and self-sufficiency in diverse environments.

Who We Are Now

Recently, the concepts and principles learned from the garden and village projects have expanded to reach farming communities on a more global scale.  We have combined lessons learned in Agriculture, Education, and Community Development.  We now design, develop, build, and manage systems that will allow individuals to discover their potential and affect communities to have the capacity to grow and produce healthy, nutrient-rich food.  Even now, we are still committed to ensuring that every process that we implement builds the capacities needed to meet high standards for quality and sustainability.  Our biological, organic farming practices prioritize building healthy communities and ecosystems; therefore, our systems are designed to nourish and sustain life.

Our Future

We see ourselves as stewards in all that we do.   And through this mindset, we understand that it is our responsibility to approach life through a holistic contextual frame that also addresses the physical, intellectual, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs within each community.  By using the holistic approach that we call Progeneration(TM), our model of building a community's wealth starts by building human capacity.  The application of knowledge is quickly transferred into productivity such as producing organic farm supplies, building community supported agriculture (CSA) networks, and producing high quality food for its local community and beyond.
